Shannon Spake, born July 23rd 1976, is an anchor for the NFL and hosts NASCAR on Fox Sports. Previously, she worked for ESPN where she was a contributor to SportsCenter to give pre and post-game coverage as well as being an on-side reporter for SEC on ESPN basketball games as well as college football games. Spake was also a part of the recently created SEC Network which is owned by ESPN.Before coming to ESPN, Spake worked at Speed channel, where she hosted NASCAR Nation in its second version (June through November 2005) and was the first reporter (February through June 2005). She also co-hosted Back Seat Drivers, a talk show that she co-hosted with the online columnist Marty Smith. Her previous jobs on air included the stations of WCCB in Charlotte, North Carolina, as well as Carolina Sports and Entertainment Television.From 2007 until 2014. Spake was a NASCAR pit reporter for ESPN. Also, she was a contributor to NASCAR Countdown as well as NASCAR Now. Spake was a full time pit reporter for Nationwide races as well as Sprint Cup races that aired on ESPN in the year 2008. The position would continue until ESPN dropped the rights to broadcast NBC Sports in the 2015 season. On August 13, 2013, Spake was able to sign an extension of her contract for a number of years with ESPN.
